廖中莱

马来西亚交通部部长

拿督斯里廖中莱是马华公会第 10 任总会长,目前担任马来西亚交通部长,他也是文冬国 会议员。他在马来西亚国民大学考取理科学士学位,并在马来亚大学取得工商管理硕士。1981 年他加入马华公会,大学毕业后,便在马华设立的智囊机构 —— 策略分析与政策研 究所(INSAP)担任研究助理一职,较后受委为马华署理总会长的助理。之后,他先后出 任劳工部部长的新闻秘书以及人力资源部部长的政治秘书。1999 年,廖中莱在全国大选中 成功中选为文冬国会议员,随后相继中选为马青总秘书和总团长职位。他在 2008 年中选为 马华副总会长,2010 年中选为署理总会长。2013 年中选为总会长。在担任国会议员期间, 他曾担任公共账目委员会委员、国阵后座议员俱乐部署理主席等,并代表国会出席东盟各 国议会组织会议。拿督斯里廖中莱于 2006 年出任青年及体育部副部长,2008 年担任卫生 部部长至 2013 年。

 

Minister of Transport, Malaysia

Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong is the 10th MCA President. He is the Minister of Transport as well as Member of Parliament for Bentong Constituency. Liow has a Bachelor of Science degree from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and an MBA from Universiti Malaya. He first enrolled himself as a member of the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) in 1981;upon graduation, he was appointed as a Research Assistant for the Institute of Strategic Analysis and Policy Research (INSAP), a think tank initiated by the MCA before being appointed as a Personal Assistant to the Deputy President of MCA. Consequently, he was appointed as the Press Secretary to the Minister of Labour, and Political Secretary to the Minister of Human Resources. In 1999, Liow was elected as a Member of Parliament for Bentong Constituency in the General Election. Further to that, he was elected as the MCA Youth Secretary and Chairman, before assuming the position as Vice President of MCA in 2008,, the Deputy President in 2010 and President in 2013. As a Parliamentarian, he was a member of the Public Accounts Committee, Deputy Chairman of the Backbenchers Club and has represented the Parliament at the ASEAN Inter Parliament Organization (AIPO) meetings. Liow’s political experience also extends to Ministerial roles, having been the Minister of Health Malaysia (2008-2013) and the Deputy Minister of Youth & Sports (2006-2008).
