Boao Forum for Asia Rome Conference

“Asia-Europe Leaders’ Cooperation Dialogue”

Dec. 4th-5th, 2018 Rome, Italy

Background

Eurasia is the largest continental landmass in the world, covering 70% of world’s population and producing more than half of global GDP. But recent years have seen rapid changes in international dynamics, the rise of anti-globalism and protectionism, as well as the deepening integration of geopolitical blocs. In this context, collaboration between Europe and Asia as two interconnected continents is becoming increasingly important. Boao Forum for Asia - a platform for promoting and increasing mutual economic prosperity within and beyond the region - convenes the meeting in Rome in partnership with the European House Ambrosetti. The meeting aims to bring together Asian and European leaders in a dialogue, with a purpose of enhancing mutual understanding, addressing challenges and promoting new Asia-Europe partnerships to explore opportunities through mutually beneficial cooperation.

Rome has always been the centre of economic and cultural exchange between East and West. The Boao Forum for Asia Rome Conference will be one of the most important Asia-Europe cooperation meetings this year, which will provide high-level investment and cooperation platform for our participants to engage in-depth discussions with thought leaders, policy makers, business elites, and senior government officials.

The two-day meeting consists of opening ceremony, plenary session, panels, roundtable discussions and closing ceremony. There will be a series of events arranged from company visits to cultural activities.
