On November 7th, Secretary-General Li Baodong met with Mr. Christopher Langman, Deputy Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia, and Mr. Graham Fletcher, Ambassador of Australia to China.

Secretary General Li Baodong briefed Mr. Langman on the current work of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), as well as its strategy to expand its coverage to the five main areas including science and technology, healthcare, culture, education and media, while focusing on Asia and embracing the whole world.

Mr. Langman commented that Australia attaches great importance to the Boao Forum for Asia and that it will continue to participate actively in the relevant activities of the forum. He particularly commented that Australia as a pioneer and advocator of the national healthcare scheme will be interested to participate in BFA’s Global Health Forum, and to share its relevant practices and experiences on the platform.

Ambassador Graham Fletcher donated to the BFA Library a series of books presenting the customs, culture and art of Australia, and bilateral relations between China and Australia.
