Secretary-General Li Baodong Met with H.E. Ms. Clare Fearnley,Ambassador of New Zealand to China

Mr. LI Baodong, Secretary-General of Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), met with Ms. Clare Fearnley, Ambassador of New Zealand to China at BFA Secretariat on Dec. 20th, 2019. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation, BFA’s Annual conference 2020 and international as well as regional situations.

Secretary-General LI Baodong welcomed Mr. Ms. Clare Fearnley as the first ambassador visiting BFA’s new office and said that with rising uncertainties and instabilities of the world, surging protectionism and unilateralism, BFA will vigorously take its international responsibilities in upholding multilateralism, advocating multilateral trade regime and advancing international as well as regional economic development.

Amb. Clare Fearnley congratulated on BFA’s achievements in recent years and concurred that New Zealand, as initial country of BFA is always highly interested in BFA’s conferences.  New Zealand will continue to participate actively in the Forum activities as it has been in the past years with the participation of New Zealand Prime Ministers and ministerial officials at annual conference of the Forum. She hopes that BFA could continue providing valuable and multilateral forum for the region as well as the international community and further regional integration and development.
