IMF forecasts upward trend in Asian economy and potential in Chinese economy

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) released the latest Asia-Pacific Economic Outlook Report entitled “Good Times, Uncertain Times: A Time to Prepare” on May 9. The report shows that the economic outlook for Asia is favorable, but it is necessary to prepare for the uncertain external environment and suggests that flexible, prudent policies should be formulated.

At the press conference held in Beijing on May 10, Alfred Schipke, IMF Senior Resident Representative for China, introduced that the Asian Economic Outlook Report released this time contains three important information points: strong short-term expectations, uncertainties faced, and prudent policies to be formulated.
