Frank FX Gong, Managing Director, JPMorgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Limited

Frank FX Gong is a Managing Director of JPMorgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Limited, Chairman of China Investment Banking, leading and driving JPMorgan China investment banking business.

Previously Frank was Chairman of China Diversified Industry Clients, and Vice Chairman of China Investment Banking. Since 2009, under the leadership of Dr. Gong, J.P. Morgan has led and completed many milestone capital markets and M&A deals for Chinese companies across all industries, solidified the leadership position of J.P. Morgan China investment banking.

Before 2009, Frank was Head of China Research/Strategy and Chief Economist, leading JPMorgan's China research team covering equity research, market strategy, macro and FX/rates. Frank also co-headed JPMorgan EM Asia market research and strategy. At his previous leadership position in JPMorgan, Frank had been consecutively and repeatedly rated the No.1 China analyst and strategist by Institutional Investor and Asia Money.

Before his career at JPMorgan, Frank was the Chief Strategist and Co-Head of global currency and rates research at Bank of America and also an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in 1995–1997 where his duties included research and policy submissions to the FOMC.

Frank holds a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from Wharton, the University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in Physics from Temple University, Philadelphia and two degrees from Peking University, a master’s degree in Operation Research and Economics and a bachelor’s degree in Physics.
