Dame Jenny Shipley: Demand-Oriented Health Research Matters
Origin:Boao Forum for Asia      Time:2019-06-20 14:40:25    Views:2314

Dame Jenny Shipley, Member of Board of Directors of Boao Forum for Asia and Former Prime Minister of New Zealand, delivered a speech at the plenary session of Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia held in Qingdao on June 11th, 2019.

Dame Shipley said that with the social development, health services will increasingly become a common demand in all fields of all countries. Through smart use of public resources and adoption of more advanced technologies, healthcare providers should work together to provide better services to all people around the world. Research institutions that play a fundamental role in improving people’s health should not only focus on scientific issues, but also pay attention to the well-being of communities and the public. A well-balanced relationship between scientific knowledge, business decisions and policy guidance can allow research outcomes to better benefit the public, and state-of-the-art treatment options to be truly put in place.

Dame Shipley expects the Global Health Forum to play a vital role in promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. She also hopes that all stakeholders will think, explore and cooperate on this platform to scale up the adoption of new technologies, and realize the vision of health for all and health beyond health.
