Origin:Boao Forum for Asia      Time:2014-05-05 15:41:58    Views:682722

On 10 April, the very day of the opening ceremony of the BFA Annual Conference 2014, BFA organized the "BFA Annual Conference 2014 Health-Care and Charity Tour ", which were attended by more than 10 distinguished guests or their wives, including Mrs. Kiyoko Fukuda, wife of BFA Council Chairman Yasuo Fukuda; Mrs. Xie Shumin, wife of BFA Secretary General Zhou Wenzhong; Former Chinese Diplomats Association Vice Chairman Qin Xiaomei, etc.

During this event, BFA organized the guests to visit the Boao Zen Temple located in the "Boao Oriental Culture Garden", where they held a charitable donation ceremony for the Qionghai Orphanage before the Main Hall. Mrs. Kiyoko Fukuda donated RMB50,000 and school supplies to the orphans in the Qionghai orphanages on behalf of BFA, so as to improve the children's living and learning conditions. Mrs. Xie Shumin promised at the donation ceremony that: "As long as the Boao Forum exists, the Public Welfare Tour will continue."

Compared with the previous ones, this year's event was richer in contents and more extensive in coverage. Besides charity, a number of activities such as the white ink paintings exhibition and female dialog breakfast were also organized.

It is reported that the BFA Public Welfare Tour program was initiated by Ms. Xie Shumin in 2011, who wished to promote public welfare undertakings by taking advantage of the influence of BFA through continuously organizing activities during BFA Annual Conference to attract public attention and investments for public welfare activities.
