Secretary General ZHOU Wenzhong visits Macao

On May 12, 2014, Secretary General Zhou Wenzhong attended at invitation the seminar of "China-Portuguese Countries Relations: China and Brazil" organized by the Macao University of Science and Technology. At the Opening Ceremony, Zhou delivered a keynote speech which elaborated on the Chinese diplomatic principles and initiatives of the new period, analyzed the necessity and great prospects of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Brazil, and welcomed Brazil and other Portuguese-speaking countries to actively participate in the annual meetings and other activities of BFA. Chiefs from the government of Macao SAR, Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao, Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Macau, Macau Foundation, Macau University of Science and Technology and other units, experts and scholars from Brazil and other Portuguese-speaking countries, and more than 300 teachers and students from the Macau University of Science and Technology attended the opening ceremony.

During his visit to Macao, SG Zhou met with Chui Sai On, chief executive of the Macao SAR. He also separately met with Mr. NG Chi-liang, executive council chairman of the Macau Foundation, which is BFA's diamond memebr, Chang Hexi, Secretary General of the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum, and so on. SG Zhou exchanged views with the chiefs of the relevant units on further strengthening BFA's cooperation with Macau.
