Themed "Realizing Opportunities of the 21st Century for All", the 15th G20 Summit will be held on November 21-22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to be attended by leaders from major countries and international organizations, including President XI Jinping of China, host country of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA). The Summit will focus on Empowering People, Safeguarding the Planet and Shaping New Frontiers, aiming at coordination, solidarity and cooperation within the world.

The COVID-19 outbreak is the worst global crisis since the end of cold war, which caught us by surprise and has brought unprecedented challenges to the G20 agendas and its organizing work. As a member of the G20, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has great international and regional influence. As the G20 presidency, the kingdom, shows excellent capability in organization and coordination and plays an important role in guiding, coordinating and carrying forward the G20 agendas in a balanced manner. The kingdom proposed and held the Extraordinary G20 Leaders’ Summit on COVID-19 in March, calling for international cooperation and fostering greater synergy to win the battle against the disease. The kingdom launched the Debt Service Suspension Initiative (DSSI) and G20 Actions to Support World Trade and Investment in Response to COVID-19, which have contributed greatly to international cooperation against the pandemic.

The BFA is an international organization, based in Asia with a global perspective, dedicated to promoting economic integration in Asia and pooling positive energy for the development of Asia and the world. The BFA is eagerly expecting the G20 members to uphold multilateralism, taking collective actions - cutting tariffs, removing barriers, and facilitating the unfettered flow of trade to ensure the safety and stability of global supply chains, to maintain global financial stability, to spur early recovery of the world economy, and to make every effort to reduce the economic and social damage caused by the pandemic.

The BFA and its members actively support the work carried out by the Government of Saudi Arabia as the G20 Presidency and wish the 15th G20 Summit a complete success.
